The door swung shut behind Petra, and with a soft click locked. The room wasn’t exactly small, but it wasn’t large either. It was just big enough to be cozy without being oppressive. Petra gazes around taking in the twin bed, the small desk and soft padded chair, the TV, and the little pad of paper and pen that rested upon the desk. Of everything, it was the pad of paper and pen that drew her to step more into the room. Only one low light was on, most likely just there for fire safety. By the dim light she makes her way to the desk and sat down upon the chair.
It’s been so long since I’ve had paper, at least… five years I think. Last time I had it mom was trying to make me drawl a picture for her, I wouldn’t do it.
The paper stares up at her balefully. She glares at it, daring it to bring back more memories. It doesn’t answer the call.
This place sure is strange…
Standing up Petra goes to explore the two other doors the dim light outlined. One of them when opened up revealed only darkness, the light wasn’t enough to illuminate it fully. She felt around with one hand to the wall by the first door and found a light switch that she flicked on. By this light the contents of the closet were revealed. Nothing.
The second door when opened led to a bathroom. While not very big it included a mirror, a sink, toilet and a one person shower/tub.
A bathroom to myself… now -that’ll- be something to look forward to. I never did get use to having all the boys around when I showered. Too much like having my brother peep on me.
A small smile spread it self across her face, but she wiped it away quickly. Too many years of being watched had made their mark.
